Precious Medals... any value above metal value?

I also posted this in the sports section.

The shop I work at just took in a few sterling, and even one gold, marathon medals. Does anyone know where to go to figure out value? There isn't really much that has sold that I could find online. Are they worth more than metal value?

Cool medals, no idea on value though...

I would be shocked if there isn't a ready market for Boston marathon memorabilia.

Really neat medals. The sterling ones are worth a premium especially when the scrap value is only a few bucks. The gold one you should be able to get a premium but I’m not 100% sure as the scrap is probably a couple hundred bucks.

Nice medals... Not sure they even have many of these events anymore.... I know the Boston Marathon is still run. Seems these races are just not held now. Cheers, RickO
