Question for folks of do crossovers regularly

I have been looking for a particular gold coin for a while and haven't seen one in PCGS plastic. But I did finally find the grade and year I wanted in an NGC holder. It does have a green bean. Is there anyone here who attempted to cross CAC gold to PCGS more than once or twice who can share their success rate? If it didn't cross, it wouldn't be the end of the world, but I am curious about other's expereince. Thanks in advance!

I crossed a high relief Saint-Gaudens NGC 63+ CAC coin to PCGS and PCGS crossed it at 63+, same grade.
I crossed two lower cost classic gold commems (without CAC stickers), one NGC MS 65+ the other NGC MS 65, the first crossed at 65 (lost its plus) and the second crossed at 64 (lost an entire point).
So it's been mixed results for me so far, BUT on the coin it really mattered on, I got the same grade cross and am happy with that result.

Perhaps you can offer the seller the expense to cross and if it crosses you will buy it. I just recently did that.
You really can’t make generalizations about what will cross or not. It comes down to the coin and graders evaluation of it. How are your grading skills? Got a good eye for PQ?
If u do play holder game specify minimum grade on form so to eliminate possible downgrade.
If your buying expensive coins u need to know how grade / look at coins. Otherwise slabbed MS69-70 mods do nicely.
Higher quality coins marked up higher by experienced bourse players.
The most I try to cross is three times. If I can't get it cross in the third time I will stop. My experience is that the high price coin is hard to cross in first try. Some can get cross in the second try. I just submitted 10 coins to cross. some of the coins are on the third try, if it fail again I will stop trying.
If the TPG is important to you... go ahead, the green bean tends to support the grade. If it were mine, I would leave it as is... Cheers, RickO
