1957 Newark Youth Day Premium Photo - Unicorn DOWN! A “new” Mickey Mantle...
This one is pretty special. I just love the Yankees, their history and Mickey Mantle. And this tie in to my home state only heightened it’s appeal.

Basically, the Yankees gave out tickets numbering around 1500-2000 and city officials brought kids to the game. In 1957, specifically, they gave out this:

As a Jersey boy, this is a pretty fun little photo to have and I am hoping to establish further ties to the distribution. I don’t recall seeing too many of these over the years but have long known about it’s existence and I am delighted to now have one of my own.
Thanks for checking it out!

An exciting development, for sure.
Going to keep digging anyway.
Feel free to weigh in...

Here's a few of the other collectibles that feature the same pose from my collection.
1957 NY Yankees Team Autograph Request Mailer (5x7) (purchased from the original owner on eBay - same name and saved correspondence and receipt)
The postmark would seem to indicate that this was the first mass produced version of the image; it was sent out to fans after overwhelming requests for autographs after the 1956 Triple Crown, Hickock Belt, MVP season of 1956.
