For relative scarcity you can also use NGC's world coin price guide powered by Numismaster. The prices are often incorrect, but it gives you a KM# view that shows within it key dates / varieties. It should hold you over until you get Yonaka and Gillboy references.
https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide/world/
for example, searching for 1812 Mexico 8 Reales gives you entire KM #111 view (Ferdinand VII draped bust from 1811 to 1821)
Even at a glance you can see higher scarcity dates, like the 1812-HJ and 1813-HJ and the key 1814/3-HJ. It's missing a lot of varieties documented by Yonaka but at least it's something.
The thing that skews the pop reports is that people tend to certify the scarcer/rarer dates more than the common ones hence the rarity disparity (
) isn’t as large as it should be.
