I won't make you all guess the grade this time.

Very nice examples! Really love the look of the Dime!

I would also be interested in what you don't like. We can all learn from your response (and @ColonelJessup) who agreed.

They look like some sharp coins! I'd prefer them after a nice long bath. :D But then again, I'm not a savvy coin collector.

It's interesting how they seemed to capture spirit and nobility much better almost 200 years ago...

I’m judging from two pictures and not in hand mind you but I see 3 negatives:

Dark toning that isn’t particularly interesting
    Complete lack of luster
    Flat and discolored hair curl

Is there more luster on the 31 than the photos show? The photos do appear to make the coin look somewhat dull and lifeless. Not a series I collect so I could be wrong.

I’m glad to see coins of this caliber that are still in those old holders. I’m guessing that your source has (or knows someone with) strongly hands.

It has some luster, but it's... not what I was expecting, keeping in mind I know almost nothing about H10C outside of how to read a price guide and look at sold auction results lol.

I will have to try to capture the luster somehow. Appreciate you coming back to put your more detailed two cents in!

He inherited these. Only a small group of coins, apparently, all in old holders. These will stay in these holders and with me for some time, in all probability.

I tried to grab some videos of the luster on the '31 H10C.

Not as bad as it looked in the previous two pics...

Vids much more appealing than the pics. Luster helps a lot.
