Speaking of Indian Head Cents....

jesbrokenjesbroken Posts: 10,618 ✭✭✭✭✭

Every collector/seller of coins regrets selling a specific or group of coins. My regrets are many but a few stand out as follows. How about yours? The Indian Head Cents were from a woodgrain collection I attempted and fell 4 short of completing 5 years ago and gave up, shame on me.
The twenty cent piece was from my first 7070. I truly loved that coin and will someday get another.

    That’s a tough question, Jim.
The list of coins I’ve sold that I look back on is too long to list. That’s why I don’t sell my coins anymore.
Many, many buffalo nickels have passed through my hands in the early years of my collecting.
Just recently I’m VERY happy to say I was able to buy back two buffalo nickels I made years ago. I call them, “The Twins.” They also have the same consecutive slab numbers. I’ll do another thread about them and my good friend @ponderit that sold them back to me, soon. This deal just happened so I’m still pretty happy about it😊

That's why my coins will be disposed of by my heirs.

Not sure if you guys understand. I was able to purchase these two back at same price I sold them for.
    Thank you @ponderit 😊

If I could only buy back my double dime for what I sold it for. :'(

I remember more vividly the ones I should have bought and didn't.
There is a Hawaiian dollar that haunts me occasionally. :(

That would not bother me as bad as having it in my hands then deciding foolishly to sell it. This regret is truly a bummer.

I guess I have regrets for both, nice coins that I had and flipped as a part time dealer in a prior life, and coins that I passed on for dumb reasons, then later regretted it.
Jim, I remember selling you a few wood grain ihc’s some years ago, sorry to hear that you broke up that collection.

I have always had a fondness for the IHC, since it was a coin I could find occasionally in circulation as a kid. I would keep them (and that was not easy, since at that time, one could purchase a piece of candy for a penny) in a band aid tin. No idea what happened to that tin of IHC's. Cheers, RickO
