    You're seeing a minor case of die erosion.

    Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

    common, minor, copper plating bubbles
    and mechanical doubling.

    No value due to the condition of the coin

    On a separate note I strongly encourage forum members to read other threads, daily if possible. A tremendous amount can be learned, as I can personally attest.

    This effect is common and has been discussed many times. ;)

    All of the above, yes. At first I thought this thread was going to be about the "capture " of my quest? The 1992d "Close AM" variety. Lol

    The effects around the date, what appear to be doubling is due to die deterioration or die erosion.
    This is commonly seen on what is referred to as the 55 poor mans doubled die.

    Some coins are just plain "Interesting"
