1859-D G$1 Guess The Grade - Revealed

Finally received this great coin from DLRC today and had to take pics right away. My first Dahlonega coin and my second southern gold. It's in an OGH. What do you think they graded it as?
**** Update: a lot of you guessed very well! It is in a XF 45 holder which is a solid grade for it as far as I’m concerned. According to QDB and others, only around 200 still exist in circulated condition. This type is known for its poor strike and inconsistency. Die lines are very common.

Nice coin!

40-45.
My first impression is XF40.
EF40 indeed imho
Can't see higher than 40, especially since it's an OGH. Cool coin regardless of assigned grade.
I guess XF40, but wondering if those obv marks are hairlines or die polish lines... mushy 5 and 8 on the reverse appear to be typical for the date. Nice, low montage G$1 thanks for sharing!

I would have had an easier time grading this one had you not advised it was in an OGH. I think the assigned grade could be as low as 35 and as high as a 45. My grade would be 45+ from the images. I would not rule out a 50 pending what the surfaces look like in hand
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
VF35 in the OGH, possible 40 if regraded today. Congrats!
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

Wooooha! Did someone just say it's officially "TACO™" Tuesday????
Some great guesses so far! I’ll let a few more people have a chance to guess before I reveal the grade.
AU details. Net 45

I’m going to go VF35, I’m sure it’s a higher grade

I'm not going to attempt to grade that typically weakly struck Dahlonega dollar from a picture! It's all about luster and that can't be judged from the pictures IMHO.
Lots of great guesses. Grade in OP.
Looks very undergraded. I’d expect a gold bean. Only expert eyes can really grade D and C gold. I see a lot of luster there, you should see luster on gold dollars from AU55 up. The cob tops on the reverse are beautiful, strongly struck, and no wear. The die itself was very fresh, the Longacre doubling is really nice. I’d like to see images which may not show slab plastic defects. Congrats on the 59D!
Has anyone said '45' ?
Great coin ! Enjoy it.....
