How many coin dealer tokens say they sell Modern Coins?
Here's a token from Timothy Peter Whelan.
The British Museum notes that they purchased coins from Whelan from 1846 to 1857. Have any US coin dealers sold to US museums like the Smithsonian?

I wonder what his definition of "modern" was. I suspect it did not include recent issues.
Agree. If Modern meant "non-Ancient", it could cover quite a bit!
I have one that I bought years ago, need to find it. I though it was pretty cool and liked that
he sold moderns

Possibly that token inspired Richard Lobel to open his store in a similar location.
I wonder what 'full value given' meant then... Certainly could not make much profit that way.... Cheers, RickO
