I broke down and brought something different...

Hi guy's, yeah I squeezed out of my wallet some extra cash. More than usual, anyway. Maybe, this is the beginning of a new page in my life? Lol.
I fell in love with the coin, the holder, the FBL distinction, the grade, the reverse toning, as well as, the price. What do you guy's think? Does the darkness turn you off? I even love the holder that PCGS placed it in.

Hell yeah. I always grab Franklins when I can!

I like the obv. but reverse might be a tad dark.

Still a nice piece in any event.

I'd keep it, as that is original mint set toning.

Don't want to rain on your parade but I don't like it. The obv looks clouded and the rev looks to dark for me. Though if you like it power to you.

Obverse is so-so...reverse is great, but all that matters is what you think.

Nice to see that you're still using the center console of your car for a photo studio as well as a cup holder/transmission switch. Always good to multitask. Maybe someday, a major auto manufacturer will add this as an option. :D

That kind of toning has really started to grow on me lately. Nice pick up, Joey!

  • CoinHoarderCoinHoarder Posts: 2,312 ✭✭✭✭✭

Could that be mint set toning?

You could buy even more if you skipped the $tarbucks and went with something else like a local coffee shop, or even home brew. ;)

Too many people have the silly notion that their coffee is outrageously expensive. It's NOT at all. Here, let me explain (going to sound like a Starbucks PR man).
A 20 ounce cup of any style of the coffee brand ( NOT THE OTHER DRINKS, like a frappuccino or mocha) costs $3.25 after tax. 20 ouncer now, BIG cup of coffee! Here are the benefits you can get. Stars. Meaning, you buy anything from them and you collect stars. Enough Stars and you receive FREE items. Coffee, food, etc.
Another benefit. FREE REFILLS! ALL you want (only sitting inside though). Starbucks is AWESOME. The taste, as well as, benefits. Did I change your thoughts on the Coffee brand? Lol
Relax and have a GOOD cup of coffee. One you can actually taste, not what a weak cup of coffee gives. Lol

Fair enough, but no. I have a nice coffee machine at home and I also do my own small batch roasting here. If I am going to buy a coffee somewhere I'd rather support a local establishment. Besides, Starbucks roasts their coffee far too dark IMO, to the point of nearly burned and it ruins the flavor profile. This is coming from someone who likes a dark roast.
I did not know about their free refill system, that's pretty good at least. How much is a 16oz latte there? I know that's not what you drink but that is my go-to if I am buying a coffee somewhere. They won't let me see any prices online without a membership. :(

I happen to think Sbux coffee is great, and I also love dark & bitter roasts. (I also love IPA so clearly biased toward bitter flavors.)

All just a matter of personal taste! I also don't drink anything but black coffee, no frappa-candy-cinos.

MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

    Hazy/milky obverse, dark splotchy reverse.
    Not my cup of tea.

I make my own cold brew at home. I drink iced coffee all year up in New England.
I’d be shocked if I average more than $0.50 a day on coffee.

Don't drink coffee, so no opinion on that. As for the Franklin....well I'm kinda in the Ricko camp. Obverse O.K. ( kinda ) Reverse is a NO from me. BUT, if you like it, I'm happy for you.

Most of us drink the pcgs kool-aid so this seems on topic.

Sorry I kinda drove this off the rails with what was supposed to be a tongue in cheek comment, I see people are passionate about their caffeinated beverages here.

Still a nice Franklin that I like the look of.

Now, here's where it can get pricey. This is what I believe people mixed the prices up with the special drinks. Not exactly sure but for the Venti size (largest) 20 0z. Approx $4-$5? The frappuccino's are the most, $6.45
I suggest you try their latte, you'll find it to be worth the cost. ;)
