Watch Out! They are still out there!

I was surprised to be offered the following counterfeit (slab and coin). Although I doubt the slab would fool anyone here, the coin looks a bit better than the usual.
Just a word of caution these coins are still floating out there (on Facebook groups and other trading sites).

I know that many complain about ebay and their lack of aggressiveness on fakes, but places like FB, etsy, and IG are the real dumping grounds for this stuff.

Yes, the font style is obviously wrong however, I wouldn't know enough to judge the coin.
But now I can see the feathers look different - Thanks!

There is also a separation between the insert and where it would normally touch the inside bottom of the slab. I guess it didn't go back together correctly. Hmm.

    Wow, this is frightening.

The really scary thought is that a counterfeit might be good enough to wind up in real PCGS plastic. I know most are caught but still...

That's why the guarantee is so valuable.

@braddick .... What did you do about it? Just decline the offer? Did you inform the seller it was fake? Inquiring minds want to know..... Cheers, RickO

I purchased this one (the seller had no idea what it was or wasn't) to take it off the market. I will send it to PCGS along with my next submission.
