EDIT: Please report these new listings! We got the last person banned. This is a fake 1906 US-Philippines peso. This scammer is being awarded hundreds of dollars and has been selling thousands of dollars worth of fakes. I keep reporting him but eBay does nothing.

I have attached photos of the real one and the fake on that’s on eBay. The fake is missing the mint mark and the Eagle and font looks off. The fakes on alibaba all look just like this coin. The seller is an overseas seller and he has made thousands selling fakes. He is also selling a fake 8 reales coin. Let’s put an end to this.

Seems like a lot of these listings are coming from the UK lately. Whoever heard of NCG? I do not know if we can get him banned or not. He seems to have a 1906-s peso about once or twice a month. You should report all the ended ones also. Ebay can force the seller to give back the money for the fake auctions and the buyer does not have to return the item.

When you report choose “copyright or trademark” then in the reason select “counterfeit or authenticity disclaimer”. Then enter a reason.

Not sure they can be banned from ebay.... and even if it were possible, the individual could return under a new name...so really futile. We can, however, continue to get the listings nuked. Cheers, RickO

UK seems to be the listing server but the item gets shipped out from Poland, Moldova and other non UK addresses spread across Europe.

I have reported a few and got listings pulled, but have also deliberately bought a 1939 Indian Rupee knowing very well that the date was tampered with.

On another occassion, had bid and won a toned 1877 Trade dollar with authentic looking patina in a capsule but felt something amiss when I held it in my palm. Took it out, weighed it and scrubbed the coin well and good, documenting every step and then contacted the seller who has been on eBay since 2012. Did not get a response even after 24 hours and hence took it up with eBay. Got a prompt refund.

Even picked up a fake 1887 CC Morgan as well as an American Gold Eagle (both were however truthfully listed as a fake on eBay for about 15 USD). Used it as teaching aids for my teenaged kid to learn from, as to what to look out for.

Which reminds me, probably need to pull out my Oregon trail quarter that came from Moldova and test it once again for authenticity.

One of the listing I managed to notify eBay and get pulled down was an 1871 Trade dollar from Indonesia

Guess the seller got banned but not sure if resurfaced under some other new ID.
