The Roosevelt dime series is the only series running 75 years without any changes at all.

I can think of one very important change in 1964!

    He's talking about design wise.

Yes, I got that — but a major change in metal composition hardly passes as “without any changes at all” so it’s worth considering. It’s interesting how the dime has been otherwise overlooked for so long. I’m sure most here would welcome a change.

Of course I meant design change. No other series comes close.

  • I'm looking forward to the 100th anniversary Morgan/Peace dollars, why not a 50th anniversary Ike while we're at it?

.......ask “ordinary” people what’s on the back of the dime. 75 years on....you’ll find (as I did) that about 1 in fifty can give some type of answer. Most are absolutely clueless. How’s THAT for a design???

No other series indeed comes close to the Roosevelt Dime when it comes to the same basic design for 75 years. Although there has been slight changes to relief and even the lettering used for the date/mottoes etc.

    I've already done "1970" and "1975" Eisenhower Dollar over-strikes.
Maybe a "1971-2021" issue is in the cards for later this year ?

@dcarr - yes please on the 1971-2021! And maybe sometime in the future, a 1979 Eisenhower Dollar over-strike to finish off the 70s?

BTW - I'm loving the MCMXXI, the MCMXXI antiqued/CS, and the 1921-2021 Peace Centennial 2oz pieces. Beautiful work!
