If you only kept 1 - which one would you keep?

I'm paring down some things, and, sometime in 2021, one of this is likely to find a new home.
For the last few years, I have contemplated the point when I would sell (I originally was doing to do a low grade "grading" set of the 1916-D in PCGS plastic, and had 3 at different grades. Down to 2, and soon to 1, maybe....
So, the G06 has that natural, sat in a book/holder for years, type of toning.
The VG10 is just natural, no toning, but is, obviously, a higher grade and a few more details.
I honestly have no idea where I will end up, and no one's post here will make the decision for me, but I do think it would be interesting to know how others are thinking..... I always like hearing other people's honest, not trying to push the decision for other people but voicing their own, opinions.

1916 in VG10.
I've seen a few Mercury dimes that have been cleaned and re-toned and your other one reminds me of those. Very well may not be, obviously- as PCGS has graded it, yet the reminder is there and I like the overall look of your second one more.

10 I would keep
Keep the VG10.

They’re both nice, but depending on your goals it seems strange to me to have more than one of these. If you can’t decide, sell them both and buy a better coin to keep.

I like the G06.
It reminds of the coins I have plucked out of old blue Whitman tri-fold albums that I picked up for just over melt.
Hands down the 10 for me. The 6 looks like an old dipped or lightly cleaned coin that retoned in an album.
I like the 06 myself.
Keep the VG, strong mm helps. Peace Roy

Like the color on the Good, but gotta go with the VG.
Without hesitation I would keep the 10 over the 6. The 10 is a nice looking example.
10
While I like a little color that adds visual interest, the clear mint mark of the 10 is what I would choose. After all, that is “the money” that best represents this coin and where one usually immediately focuses.
"Got a flaming heart, can't get my fill"
I think the color on the G6 gives it some personality and uniqueness. You could probably replace the other coin relatively easily if you ever got seller's remorse. Selling the VG10 also nets you more cash.
If it were me, I'd probably sell them both because I've never been attracted to low grade keys unless they're rare.
If selling to acquire cash, then I would sell the 10, if just 'paring down' the collection, then I would keep the 10. Cheers, RickO

Without a doubt, the 10...

I would keep the vg10. My rationale is that the head/hair of the g6 is too worn and it loses some of the iconic Mercury look.
vg10 hands down
Definitely the VG10.
Well, the goal was to build a grading set!
Since the set is no longer a goal, selling both was my first and buying a better one was my first thought as well.
If it were me, I would sell both and buy one nicer than both combined. Sorry if that wasn't what was asked.
Same here!

I would sell them both, the 16D is way over rated as a key date and can be found in almost any grade with a few mouse clicks, I know that when I sold my VG a few years back I lost a little money on it.

Yes, a nice AU would suit me just fine!!

Awe, what did I miss?
Keep the one you like best. I'm with @BryceM though. I'd consider selling both of them and upgrading to a coin you like more if you can't decide which one you like better. Throw in a few hundred more, you could probably pick up a nice VF coin.
If putting together a set, I would keep the one that goes along grade wise with the rest of the set. The vg is definately the keeper for me. Higher grade, more value, tougher to replace. I am not a g fan except for pre-1840 coins.
This issue has always been interesting to me. You can have a nice AU coin for a few grand, yet the low grade grade ones (even in G 4) approach close to $1k or better. I'd rather have a single AU than 5 VG 8 coins.
No question... VG10
The VG10 would be my choice
Mr_Spud
If I was in the market for one, I'd pay the extra $ for the VG10 example. Rather have better details, then a bit if color.
Keep the VG10. Full reverse rims and lower population than the somewhat ubiquitous AG3-G6 range.

A 10 works for me as well
Keep the 10!

The spot on the face of the 6 is bothersome. Not a fan of the toning on it either.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
This
for me, I'd sell them both and upgrade to an MS graded dime never been a fan of low graded coins

Appreciate the thoughts, folks!
I still haven't made any choices, but one theme I see here is "sell both and buy better".....I will just say that, if I see one, or both, it won't be with buying another one, even higher grade, in mind.
Paring things down a bit and won't be tying up more cash than already tied up in coins. I do have a kid starting college already

the G06 is special
the VG10 pays for more credits

Yeah, checking the PCGS price guide indicates that selling both of these could then be parlayed into a Fine example. Hardly worth doing even if one weren't trying to raise cash, in my opinion.
