It may not even be worth one cent much longer if it’s disintegrating as many of the zinc based cents do.

But if you want anything more helpful, you’ll need to post good pictures of the front and back.

@Blueyed4l .... Welcome aboard....Your cent is likely only worth a cent... and maybe less, depending on the state of deterioration. Pictures would help us tell you more, but most likely, it is Post Mint Damage (PMD) Cheers, RickO

It is always worth 1 cent no matter how worn it is. You can always spend it or drop it in a charity bin.

    Hey Blueyed4l
Not sure if you're still in school or a recent grad but lets try this. This is your final exam. It consists of one question. Get it right you pass for the year. Get it wrong you go back and repeat the entire year. There is only ONE correct answer. You have 45 seconds to think this over then you must submit your answer. Take your time. Think this one through. 45 seconds is plenty of time so don't rush.

    Question:
How much do you think a bearly even readable 1 cent US penny that someone found in the dirt is worth ?

    A) 1 cent
    B.) $8,503.01
    C) $91,382,.01
    D) $768,584.01

Some coins are just plain "Interesting"
