Do you really think that coin is rainbow toned or did you just copy the listing verbiage? I see nothing resembling rainbow color.

Not for me, Rainbow? or not.

My favorite,
For some reason, I’m having a craving for Skittles.

Anymore, it would appear any color other than brown gets described as "rainbow".
I find that coin absolutely repulsive. Gold should be gold.....Honest wear from commerce is certainly acceptable, however, for me, that coin is a pass. Cheers, RickO
I had my eyes on that one, but would hardly call it rainbow toned, at least compared to a lot of my gold toners.
Come on. You come on strong. Hate the game, not the coin.
@abcde12345.... NO!! I hate the coin... I do not care about the game... It is an UGLY coin!! Cheers, RickO
Ok, let's find some middle ground:
You hate what was done to the coin, not necessarily the coin itself.
Yes?
No, because what was done to the coin IS the coin. There's no going back, and there's no likey from @ricko.
I like toned gold, but not that one.
Not rainbow and not particularly attractive. I rate the toning as a minor net negative effect to eye appeal.
The heavy contact marks bother me a lot more than the toning.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
There is going back. How many coins are artificially white after a bath or dip?
Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value. Zero. Voltaire. Ebay coinbowlllc
No way, pass
If that coin comes out white, you are using the wrong chemicals.
Among many hits, that nose hit is especially bothersome.
Pasadena.
This isn't mine but is my favorite toned gold. Ex-Anaconda. Photos by Brandon.
That coin is A, not rainbow toned, and B. HIDEOUS, the damage on the lips and nose makes that a no go for me unless it for melt.

It's a dog. Sorry, there's nothing I like about it.
Lance.
Shrug. I like it. Some wayyyy too harsh comments here
Here's all four photos for posterity. I do think it's neat looking. It reminds me a bit of the Saddle Ridge half eagle.
Here's the Saddle Ridge coin:
I will say that I think the responses would be a bit different if it was posted by a prominent forum member that collects and posts toned gold
The underlying characteristics of the Saddle Ridge coin are nice but that splotchy fuchsia is unpleasant.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Deserved or not, I think that was the result of the thread title. I thought the coin was fine, just not rainbow colored.

Isn’t that the famous extra nostril variety? That hit on the nose is hard to get past.
I like toned gold but that is so drastic it just doesn't look right to me.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
I'm only discouraged by the presence of the marks in the field in front of/on the chin area.
I like the 82 but it doesn't look like a rainbow.
However, that 23D Saint is pretty amazing. I actually owned a 24P at one time that had similar toning (on the obverse) but nowhere near as striking as this 23D.
jom
The coin looks nice to me except for the marks as @PerryHall already said
