I don't care if the Eagles are dreadful.....

I'm normally right with you Steve. But let me throw this out to you. Right now, the Eagles own the 7th pick in the draft (I think). Wins these next one or two games and our position goes down. There are a lot of holes to fill on the roster and while they have a good number of picks in this draft, they only have one pick in the first two days (3 rounds). A top 10 pick in this draft could net you multiple day 1 and day 2 picks if they play their cards right. And if they happen to lose their next two, their position could improve to where they own a top 5 pick, where one of the QB's is available, and that would bring them even more in a trade.
Not really sure how I feel about today, even though it's the Cowboys. They're going nowhere this year so let's regroup and start to plan for the future.

It could always be worse steve. You could be a Panthers fan.

Point taken. But i live for beating the Dallas Cowboys...to me it's like the essence of life.

As i envision the Eagles beating the Cowboys today, i can see Dimeman and others like him, throwing bricks thru their TV screens, and it gives me great pleasure.

I hear ya...but i'll worry about the draft in April. Today I'm focused on thrashing the stinkin' Cowboys.

The scary part is that Terry Bradshaw said that Carson Wentz is the Eagle’s quarterback for the future. If that’s true the Eagles will have lots of high picks for the foreseeable future.

Yes, beating Dallas is enjoyable, but my passion for Eagles this season almost down to nothing.

@stevek I'm sure that SB win makes it easier to feel that way.

Rivalries are great. Pats are out of the playoffs, and Buffalo is the new big dog in the division, and a win against them would feel great. I am fortunate to have been a Patriots fan before the winning. A lot of young fans don't know how to just enjoy a game, a rivalry, a win.

Actually, that's an interesting comparison. Doesn't seem that long ago that the Panthers were in the Super Bowl with their QB having an MVP season, along with an up and coming head coach. Now neither one is on the Panthers team.

The Eagles not too long ago won their first Super Bowl with season help from a second season, second pick in the draft rising star QB, and a second year head coach who outcoached the GOAT Bill Belichick in that Super Bowl.

It's not a stretch at this point to think that the same fate could await the Eagles in the next season or two. Although i think that Jeff Lurie would only fire Doug Pederson if he quit on himself.

The old saying of "glory is fleeting" is particularly true in the NFL.

You had the sports fan run of a lifetime in that Belichick/Brady era.

I've stated this before, in my point of view, that was the greatest run in the history of American team sports. I can't envision it ever being surpassed for a multitude of reasons.

“Glory is fleeting” except for organizations like the Packers, Patriots (except for this year), New Orleans and Seattle. You need a great coach and a smart front office. Some teams like the Lions and Jacksonville have neither and never go anywhere.

Sports "passion" is down in general.

The NBA in particular has really gone into the tank.

It will bounce back i believe, but will it just be a dead cat bounce as they say in the stock market about a bankrupt and dying company that receives a modest bounce in their almost worthless stock price?

I just think this pandemic has everybody down right now, and hopefully things will get back to normal or near normal when the vaccines are distributed, and that will liven up sports interest as well when fans can attend the games, etc.

The NBA is dead to me. I have zero interest in it.

I would agree that the NFL bouncing back and the NBA bouncing back are two different factors involved.

I would agree that Wentz will be back with the Eagles next season. He may even start the season if he looks decent in camp.

If Wentz doesn't look good in camp, then anything is possible.

Wentz is as good as Joe Flacco and he’s the backup on the 1 and 13 Jets. The Eagles will go nowhere with him as long as he is starter.

This is what I mean about stupid front office people who make bad decisions. When did the Eagles give Wentz the big contract? If it was after the Super Bowl win, it was a dumb move. Wentz was no more than a flash in the pan with a bum knee at that point.

The Eagles played 15 minutes of football today, and then decided that was enough and went home.

You know what they say about new QB’s? Film and adjustments. Tua found out again Saturday and Hurts saw it today. Film and adjustments. Don’t feel bad @stevek , Jackson and Murray found out also.

Tsk, tsk. Not so fast. I’m here to talk about Wentz and Hurts. Or maybe Sam Darnold in Philly. 😉

$50 fine in monopoly money for violating the lockdown.

Make it $100 for mentioning Sam Darnold.

Sure you do, that's why you post about them so much.
And no, they didn't beat Dallas twice this season, therefore, it wasn't a good season for the Eagle faithful.

Well, the performance yesterday didn't surprise me. For my money, Schwartz has got to go. Game after game, he keeps leaving his corners singled up on the outside, the last two weeks with guys who were out of football until a few weeks ago. By the time he made an adjustment, the game was already out of reach. Even if the offense had played better, they didn't stand a chance as they had nobody who could cover the two wideouts that Slay wasn't covering. Well at least now, we're up to draft pick #6!

Yea, the Eagles pick could be as high as 3 or as low as 10, depending on how the final week plays out.

Many pundits are saying the Eagles will select a WR. If they do, perhaps it would inspire Carson Wentz or Jalen Hurts to achieve new heights...but i realize that may be wishful thinking, especially with Wentz.

Nothing can inspire Wentz to play better. He’s got a big contract, and he’s going to sit on it.

And, yes, the Eagles were dreadful during the last three quarters of the Dallas game and will give hope to all of the Washington No Name fans next Sunday.
