Many 1943 steel cents have been reprocessed to make them look better. I still have a PDS set a local dealer gave me when I was a kid back in the early 70s, so they have been around for a while. They do look better than a bunch of rusty steel cents, but most of the numismatic value is gone

I admit I paid more for the fun of having an old holder sample slab w/CAC
You could find one for far less, sans CAC, without much trouble

All of my collection is in a safe deposit box!
There are NO proofs for 1943 Lincoln Cents.
Proofs stopped in 1942 because of World War 2 & did NOT start up, again, until 1950.
