  • Ok, let's recap. Topps claims the following odds: Green Refractor 1:11, Blue 1:14, Gold 1:21, Orange 1:41, Red 1:202, SF 1:1006 packs. 1985 Insert 1:12. Ben's Diamonds 1:24. Overall odds of receiving a refractor, 1:4 packs.

Our box contained 24 packs. Here is what we ended up with:

    2 x Green Refractors
    3 x Blue Refractors
    1 x Gold Refractors
    2 x 1985 Insert
    1 x Ben's Diamonds

That is a total of six refractors, for a perfect 1:4 match! The 1985 insert and diamond are also right on the money.

The commons mostly sell for $1-8 each with a couple of exceptions fetching a bit more. I'm going to go with an average of $2 at a guess. The Refractors and inserts seem to vary a lot but I'll say an average of $15 each. If I sold off everything I pulled, I might be able to pull in $2 x 86 + $15 x 9 = $307. I paid about $350 for the box so that would mean a net loss of $43. However, I got to spend about 3 hours opening it. That means I spent $14.33 per hour on entertainment which is pretty damn good if you ask me!

I really enjoyed this rip. What am I going to buy and open next? Any suggestions?

good stuff. with the soto and torres color, the bichette and if vladdy/polar bear can bounce back coupled w another rookie breakout, you should definitely recoup. my guess that rookie will be may. 😉
