i need the green soto refractor 22/99. hit it for me please so i can close out the jersey run, please!
22/99 specifically? Oh man. I will do my best!
yep. specifically.
your handle gives me faith. 😉
Best of luck!
Thanks... What's the over/under on how long it takes for the USPS to deliver it to me?
You should have it by February.
Today it was processed through USPS facility in my state (MA). Tracking says it should have been delivered today. Where will the next stop be? MA? ME? NE? Roll the dice!
Saw this recently and thought it was pretty hilarious and also dead on:
Well, the box finally came today! I'm going to open it and start on some packs tonight. I'll call out any special cards as I go and give a photo for each pack in the order they were in the pack.
Here we go!
Nice presentation and awesome pack design.
Starting with the upper right quadrant, first layer pack. No exceptional cards but one RC for Bobby Bradley.
Cards seem to be in really excellent shape.
Going clockwise, lower right quadrant, first layer pack. Obviously being a huge Red Sox fan, Devers is the key card in this one. Two packs, so far no refractors.
Lower left, first layer. Pulled my first refractor parallel:. Gleyber Torres, 92/99. Also two RC's with Trent Grisham and Anthony Kay.
Upper left, first layer. RCs for Zack Collins and Aaron Cicale.
Top right, layer 2. Two RCs, Adbert Alzolay and Seth Brown. Pulled a diamond cut Alonso, too.
Lower right, layer 2. Nothing to write home about but a RC for Graterol.
green gleyber is nice
still should have an 85 coming
Lower left, 2nd layer and we pull another refractor. Blue this time for Juan Soto, 43/75.
nice soto! not the one i needed but very solid pack w albies too
I'm really looking forward to it if it shows up. '85 was one of my favorite sets as a kid.
No sign of your Soto yet, lol. Still a lot of breaking to do.
Last layer 2 pack a bit of a dud. It strikes me as funny how the rookies seem lumpy.
Layer 3. First pack yields that '85 in the form of Vlad Jr. It's a great looking card.
not sure if there are variations but freddie freeman w throwback is pretty cool!
I especially like the touch of authenticity thrown in on that '85: off center just enough to make it seem real, lol.
not bad. but box should start heating up right about now...
Next up, second pack, layer 3:
From your lips to God's ears.
Pack three, layer three:. Keep talking Blurryface, it's working. Pulled a Blue Refractor, 16/75 for Jake Rogers. Also got Torres in base form which is, I think, the first time I've seen the same player twice?
bo bichette rc too!
time for some rc color though...
Final pack of layer three. Someone needs to check the shuffler at the Topps factory: Four RCs, all pitchers.
I'm halfway done with the box but all the way done with the night. I think I am going to stop here and pick it up again tomorrow to finish off the second half. So far, pretty cool set.
Can you help me understand what BB means? How much does a box go for? I am getting itchy for a rip!
Your comment about the centering on the 85 was priceless.
Good Luck!

To what market is Topps attempting to appeal?
The cards were designed by Ben Baller who is an artist, actor, jeweler, etc. Basically he takes the stock chrome card and blings it. There are a few custom inserts in the packs too.
A box like the one I got, 24 packs with 4 cards each, is going for around $350. I decided to splurg on it even though it isn't my collecting focus because I love the thrill of opening new stuff and figuring out what's what.
I guess they are going for higher end market, trading price for supposed rarity. It's not clear what the print run was on it. Topps was only releasing about 10,000 different sets this year so they figured they should add another one.

Let us continue!
We are starting on layer 4, upper right quadrant. Here is our first pack of the night:
Next pack, working clockwise. Nice '85 Alvarez RC! Juan Soto too... No refractor, sorry!
Pack 3, layer 4:. Yu Chang RC.
Fourth pack, fourth layer: Pretty nice! Three RCs plus a Urshela Green Refractor, 96/99!
Fifth Layer, Pack 1. Nothing to write home about.
Layer 5, pack 2. Four RCs... Still no Rookie refractors!
Next up, our first Gold Refractor, Elvis Andrus...23/50. The gold refractor did not jump out at me and I had to double take to confirm. Not the best card to pull the first gold on, but still cool I got something other than green!
Final pack of layer 5. Nice reverse Jackie Bradley Jr. card!
Well it all comes down to this. The sixth and final layer. First pack, no big money but I did get to grab my second Sox player with my man Bogaerts!
Next pack, three RCs:
Two more packs to go! The penultimate pack yields a Jean Segura Blue Refractor, 53/75!
Final pack! Sigh...
