Ike Group and Franklin Lovers Sites. No interest?

WindycityWindycity Posts: 3,525 ✭✭✭✭✭

It seems to me that both the Ikegroup.org and Franklinlover.yolasite.com sites had reasonable traffic and interest a few years ago but have largely gone dormant. Just no interest in the details of varieties and are collectors getting information from other sites?

In November, an MS69 1974-S Ike sold for a little over 14K. There is still some interest.

Although I enjoy both series, I never focused enough to look for coin specific sites. I seem to get all the information I need right here, or from books.... Cheers, RickO

    I think you meant ikegroup.info
I've only been there a few times and it has good information, but is the user agreement before access really necessary?
As for the Franklin lover site, I've not been there. I'll have to check it out.

That's not the most welcoming homepage. Very unusual. I'd probably stay away just because it seems they have more lawyers than I really want for a hobby.

Sites that I would like to visit would be ones that showcase amazingly beautiful coins and impressive errors. I don't personally get into VAMs or DIVa numbers as I tend to focus on things that are easily visible to the naked eye. @WingedLiberty1957 made a site like that for Lincolns a while back which I looked at quite a bit but the powers that be had him shut it down. Perhaps new management would have a different take on the situation?

If there was a site with photo after photo of gorgeous Ikes and Franklins, sign me up! I tend to like browsing auction site history and dealer inventory for eye candy.

Also, I'm into lowballs, and their GradeView only goes down to MS60!

This is my coin and I'd love to see more like it :)

This coin is from @Byers and I'd love to see more like it as well!

Yes, but what is it worth out of the holder?

That seems like an absurd price to pay for a very common coin.

I don't think there are any Lawyers involved at The IKE Group Site. ;)

i've visited both and glad they have stayed up and hope they continue to do so.

it seems to me the franklin site which i've visited more between the two has had additions or i've possibly missed information from each time i visit.

Who came up with their homepage?

  • GRANDAMGRANDAM Posts: 8,603 ✭✭✭✭✭

Andy & Brian are the 2 main guys behind the group now, I am a member but not active since I sold all my big money Ike’s,

I think they put that disclaimer up to protect themselves because you never know what someone will post and to give themselves a little piece about of mind.

They might have had a lawyer draw it up, I don’t know,

One thing I like about the eye candy type sites I mentioned is that you don't have to be an active collector to enjoy the.
