I believe that lots natural diamonds form in the shape of a octahedron. To me it looks like a quartz rock with mica in it. I’m not expert.
I would suggest you to go find a forum that specializes in rocks and minerals. This forum is mostly filled with coin geeks and people that stack precious metals.

Really cannot determine anything from those pictures. Where was it found? Could be quartz/mica/iron pyrite.....Cheers, RickO
