A steal at $393 (less auction fees). Of all places, the auction was in Montreal, QC, Canada and ended a few minutes ago.

The presentation of the coin in the plastic bag and the three staples is a nice added touch. Classy.
I wonder how many of these are out there.
435+100?
Very cool and agree that sounds like a good price. Next time tell us before the auction closes...!
Must be some kind of super paper kept in a special environment .....no yellowing?
Nice
You have quite the collection!
How many do you have now?
I'm guessing that the signatures are autopen produced. Does anyone know if this is the case.
LBJ was well known to use autopens and secretaries to sign his name.
I'll have to scrutinize the two letters above some more, but I would not count on the signature being genuine.
But the letter still provides the provenance for the coin.
I cannot determine if either are accented hair varieties... @DrDarryl, have you checked for AH coins? Cheers, RickO

To my eye, the signatures appear slightly different in the photos shown for what that's worth...
I took another look and I also see some differences in letter formation. (Slight differences especially with the first or last strokes are possible with an autopen as the pen can touch down or lift up at the beginning or end in slightly different ways.)
If they are different, that would make me suspect secretarial, as LBJ was known to use alternate methods so often. It was so widespread that there has even been some disagreement among "experts" over the years as to which styles are real or secretarial.
Nice!
I own the coin/letter in the first two images.
Another example (from WorthPoint).
Superb!
Jealous, I have seen a few of these over the years, always have been a day late or a dollar short.
Keep me in mind, please, if you come across another.
Pawn Stars:
"The signature is real, Rick. Unfortunately, it is autopen."
"What's it worth?"
"$400.00.
"Okay, thanks." (Turning to the seller:)
. . . "I'll offer your $50."
"Whaaa?"
"
Yeah, but- by the time I have it framed and professionally featured in an auction. . . "
"Ok, I'll take it." (Seller walks away disappointed.)
