That is a die clash mark.
Not uncommon on Peace dollars
thanks for the info I had no idea what that was as errors are not my cup of tea so to speak

nice catch as well
had to review the coin three times to make sure i was seeing that die clash correctly cause the coin has many dings and such on it so wanted to make sure it wasn't PMD
