The first picture looks like someone may have been able to slide out the flap on the bottom without compromising the tape. That looks more questionable than the tape. I think it's suspect.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

FWIW my V75 silver eagle arrived in the same box and also had that same look with one of the ends. It also had that strip of tape over the sealed flap.

This one looks legit, but the description says: End Of World War II 75th Anniversary Silver Medal *US MINT SEALED”. Shipped with USPS First Class. Not real silver. This is a silver medal. I do have two of these.

Ah hell, I'm gonna pull the trigger.

It looks fine to me. The Mint is not known for neatly taping these boxes.

Are these worth more in unopened boxes? I am not understanding the appeal.

Looks legit. But you can never tell. Sometimes PFS Web uses tape, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they are all but open when you get them in the mail. It is also possible to open them and reseal them, frankly.

If you wanted it slabbed "First Strike", we are past the deadline. The only way to get that designation is to have an unopened box.

Some people are also paranoid that they are getting cherry-picked remnants - 69s instead of 70s.

Ahhh, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.

I have never received a mint product that had that appearance....looks sloppy more than opened though. Cheers, RickO

Right on the money, more like the second option this time.......... call me paranoid ;)
