An Attractive Raw Walker

Walkerguy21DWalkerguy21D Posts: 11,514 ✭✭✭✭✭

I hadn’t seen this coin in quite a few years, as it was stashed away in an old binder in the safe. A forum friend contacted seeking assistance on a few coins so I went digging.
This coin had been in my old Dansco, years before I got into the slab/registry game.

It was a nice reminder of days past, when filling albums with “nice BU” coins on a budget was the goal, without concern if it was an upgrade candidate, if it would cross over, if it would CAC or not, etc. Ah well....
Feel free to comment and post any of your nice raw album coins.

    Thanks, RickO.
You are right, value-wise, that coin wouldn't even make the top 40 or 50 in the set.
Eye appeal-wise, it's a lot higher and punches well above it's weight class, at least IMO.

That's a beauty! At my current stage of collecting, I prefer raw. Like @metalmeister said, they photograph nicer and easier.

Walkerguy21D: A BEAUTY!! My dream would be to have a type set of 1 of each 19th & 20th Century coin in similar condition as a "showcase", since so many of the ones I've collected over the years in my Whitman blue folders are in nowhere near as nice shape! Maybe someday.......... even if each is the most common-date coin of the lot.....
