Needs suggestions on a new coin set

Hey guys, does anyone have suggestions on a relatively short foreign coin series that is approximately half dollar size or larger with a silver composition that is short? Id prefer 20th century and non-bullion. Was considering San Marino 500 Lire or 1000 Lire. It can be NCLT too.

Mexico Peso 1957-1967. 10% silver.

San Marino's are nice but there are some nice values in the 500 lira and 1000 lira in Italy 1946 to 2001 the entire set includes the 5000 lira and the 10000 lira and has a definite start date and end date. I'm almost done with mine at NGC. The San Marino is easily completed.
And not expensive in high grade.
You did not mention grade or price range. The Newfoundland sterling silver 50 cents series of 1870 - 1919 contains 27 coins (24 if only a date set). In EF/AU condition most can be obtained for less than $200US each. Some will be up to $750 US.
Canadian mint state .800 silver dollars from 1935 to 1967 is a 28 coin date set (60+ with all the varieties. Some are pricey.

I did not consider grade and price yet, cause I was only searching for ideas. $200 is a good range and Ill have to look into the set. My book only covers the 20th century though, not to mention 60+ coins is a big set.
Here some suggestions that largely depend on how much money you what to spend-
Edward VII Florins or Half Crowns... 1902-1910. 1905 is the toughest on the florins but if you are patient, one can be located. As for the half crowns, 1903 and 1905 are though.
Other thoughts...
Cuba Star Peso series or even the ABC Peso series-
I think the Mexico one peso series 1918-45 is a great choice and a complete is not tough unless you are seeking GEMS
Final suggestion... at least for this post... Weimar Germany. There are some options there that are short. One could put together a set of the 3 and 5 Mark Graf Zepplin issues

I second Edward vii halfcrowns 02-10 and especially if you don’t mind baldilocks
I also adore the Newfoundland sterling that @1960NYGiants suggested, but you should be warned that in many ways these are like collecting Barber half dollars from the US Mint. I mean this in that they are relatively low mintage coins that saw extensive usage and many (most?) of the extant pieces are either fairly low grade and/or have been abused in the past. You need patience and luck to build an original, meaty set.

Isn’t that what makes it fun! Love the idea for that set.
Latin American Collection
British 50p coins. They basically are the state quarters of England with over 100 designs. Most are pretty affordable, but some can get over $150 like kew gardens
Great suggestions so far, any others???
If you want short sets why not Panama?
Which ones are you referring to in particular?
The 1/2 Balboas + Balboas...1/2 dollar and Dollar size struck buy the US Mint.
If you want more of a challenge, how about Great Britain Wreath Crowns of George V from 1927-1936? All have very low mintages (under 10,000) and are .500 silver.
These two sets are what I'm playing around with now as well as Canadian halves from 1937-1967. With the Canadian silver dollars and halves, I try to get nicely toned XF/AU examples with few hits while attempting to stay within 2-3 times bullion value for most coins. Purchasing eBay lots of 5-10 coins at a time kept prices low at the start.
Newfoundland halves caught my attention because of their low mintages, surprisingly low collector demand (lower grades are cheap, no "stoppers"), and high availability. As Tom stated, most are cleaned, scratched, punched, and abused, and nice coins above F can be hard to find and pricey.
My goal with the Newfy sterling halves is to try to get original and relatively unblemished coins in VG-VF for under $100. Many can be acquired for $30-$50. However, I have sprung for some VF35 and EF40 coins in PCGS holders. My initial impression is that either ICCS and PCGS grades for these coins seem to vary considerably, or I don't know how to grade them yet. Most likely the latter. I scratch my head at some of the grading.
German 10 Marks before the Euro, 1987-2001 is easy to build and affordable. Prices aren't too far off from bullion. It's not super short at ~40 coins.
Or you could look at silver 5, 10, or 20 euro issues.
