1971 baseball PSA 9 Recent auctions

Anyone score any of the 71 black beauties in PSA 9 that went down from eBay set break. Really wanted the Brooks Robinson, it went for over 4K. Clemente went for a lot. Some low pop commons as well. Don’t follow the set super close. Prices seemed pretty strong. Although I wouldn’t have sold until after holidays.

No pick ups, but much to admire under magnified scans on EBay. There were also quite a few older certs that would likely grade lower in the current regime. I was disappointed in the Reggie Jackson 9 that appeared to have very noticeable chipping on the edges.

I collect ‘71s. I snagged two under 100$ I bid on 70+, but was quickly outbid above my price range! Still, happy with The 2! Also fun to see Gibson go for $1738 😁. Absolute amazing set auctioned. Also auctioned 2 GEM MT 10’s as well!

I was astonished at how much the Grich rookie went for. I figure at least two people think he's going into the HoF soon.

That was an absolutely gorgeous set.
I am doing the 71 set but 8's are all i want.

I did win (9) PSA 9 Yankees as they were al dead centered and new cases

A few low pops were very pricey IMO

I am not sure if dropping that many high priced cards all at once was good. For me as an example I can only spend so much

I wonder who the set belonged to. I thought it was Eric Olander's but the 10s don't match up. I bid on about 5 or 6 high pop 9s but came up empty. I have the set complete in 8 or better and am not really pursuing upgrades other than the rare 9 I get on my own submissions. I sure wish I had back some of the 9s I sold about 10 years ago. I sold a Gibson 9 for $700. The really painful one is the Aaron PSA 9 I sold for $1000 back then.

I was following the Bench card. Wow!!! Closed at 12k more than double the last time a PSA9 sold back May. Always wanted 9 but looks like that ship may have sailed. Glad I did pick up an 8.5 a couple of years ago.

Was able to get the PSA 10 Aaron off of Heritage. It was pack pulled by the consignor.
