1983 P Jefferson nickel odd color

Hi everyone
Found this coin recently and am questioning about the color.
Its weight is 5.06 g
There are no wrong planted known, so has it been plated or an environmental damage.
What do you think ?

Get a box of nickels and go through 2000 coins and you'll realize that the color is well within the range of what is out there. :)

Looks like a run of the mill 1983-P nickel to me. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Yes...Just commerce/environmental surface degradation... very common on nickels. Cheers, RickO

The dark toned nickels have often spent some time buried, been found and placed back into circulation. They command no premium over face value and are of no interest from a numismatic viewpoint.

    All glory is fleeting.
