Hi Everyone! I'm new to the community and thought I'd say hello. I'm embarking on a new project to collect the Red Sox HOF. I'm going to get baseball cards where possible, autographs it photos where it's not. Here is my first entry and I'll keep you all posted as I acquire more!

Needs more Yankees.
Welcome aboard.
Welcome! I agree with Nam though LOL. Nice collection so far.
Well, I got three up there already! Lots of crossover between the Yanks and Sox.
Hi, welcome. Thanks for the post.
I love checking out collector's pet projects.
99 people in the Red Sox HOF, 9 per frame, 11 frames in total. One down, 10 to go!
Big Sox fan here. Good luck with your project!

Also collecting Andre Tippett, Patriots Greats' RCs, Dwight Evans, 1964 Venezuelan Topps, 1974 Topps Red Sox
Thanks! I noted that you collect '74 Topps Sox. I have a '75 Topps Sox set I am working on, average graded card is an 8 with 18 cards in the team set collected. Not sure if I will end up displaying those though. Still fun to have!
Go after Dewey's RC.
I chased this a long time.
Finally got it this year!
Here is a link to my 74 Sox set. Work in progress. My favorite card in that project is my autographed Dewey PSA 9. Currently have autos of Juan Marichal, Danny Cater and Doug Griffin at PSA.

Hi,
I would like to share a Boston Redsox jersey autographed by Luis Tiant. This jersey was a gift that was sent to me about a year ago; the jersey is very very special to me; not necessarily because of the Luis Tiant autograph, but mostly from the person that sent me that jersey. There are people that use the phrase: “There as good as gold”.The person that sent me that jersey is way beyond good as gold, my typing's and my expressions can’t describe that upmost euphoria rush.
Mr. Phillips, I say “Thank you”
Be safe
You know it…
Later my brother
Great card! For my HOF collection, I am going with first full card showing the player in Sox uniform, if possible. For example, I have the '72 Fisk rookie but using the '73 card since it is his first card by himself.

I like it! The '76 Topps Rice and Lynn cards are gonna be terrific!
The Rice and Lynn cards are out for grading even as we speak!
I often use the same criteria, don’t like multi player RCs. By your criteria, you’d want a 74 Topps Dewey. I already mentioned mine but can’t resist talking more about it. Last I knew there were no PSA 10’s (unsigned or signed) of this card and mine was the only autographed PSA 9.

Indeed, this is the card I am targeting. I have a notification search set up on EBay. No 9's or better listed currently and the 8 that is up there is overpriced.
A real beauty Dan !
Liking this post.
Now collecting:
Topps Heritage
1957 Topps BB Ex+-NM
All Yaz Items 7+
Various Red Sox
Did I leave anything out?
@DBesse27 - That is a beautiful card and signature. The combination of high grade card and stunning penmanship is very, very attractive!
Thanks guys! Prob my favorite non-Yaz baseball card I own.

Dewey has such a great signature. I always hated that he ended his career with the Orioles.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Me too!

Hey Guys! Excited to post the second panel is complete for my Sox HOF. Nine more to go!
Nice. I forgot that Reggie Smith started out with Boston. I always think of him as a Dodger or Card. Nice looking card.
Thanks, I think that is one of my favorites so far in this set too. I also love the Dom DiMaggio one. On the back it calls him "the little professor".
I like your taste in card quality (centered)!
Higher score doesn't always equal best eye appeal.
Gets me thinking to start a Phillies Wall of Fame
Totally! Centering is a heck of a lot more important to me, personally, than some little ding on the corner. I am particularly happy with the '50 and '51 Bowmans so far (Jim Piersall is off, but I like the auto enough that I felt it compensated).
Psyched to have completed my third panel in my RS HOF!
Here is what I have so far:
Looks amazing!
That is a really nice display!
Thank you! I don't have a huge collection but what I do have, I want to look at!
That's what counts! My core collection is only 250 cards minus the 40,000 Junk wax era cards packed away in the basement
I have a lot of that crap too. You can see my shelves full of binders in the reflection, lol. I would guess maybe 10k cards I don't care about. Just artifacts of me building ungraded Red Sox team sets.
I hear ya on that. Regrettably, I went through a phase about 10-12 years ago when I was buying vending and unopened and literally trashed the cards that did not fit within my collecting interests at the time. What an idiot! I would consider that near sacrilegious now but I was extremely focused. Unbelievably, I still remember going through 8 cello boxes of 81 Topps that i bought from Dave & Adam's, propping a large plastic trash can next to me at the dining room table, and dumping every card that wasn't an AS card. D'oh! I should have just stuffed them away somewhere but they were dirt cheap at that time.
Good luck with the Sox HOF collection. Terrific displays!
Thank you!
I keep all the cards in binders so they will stay "nice" even though it feels like 90% are way off center upon opening! It's fun to pull out the occasional card that was hot when I was younger though. Plus I love the challenge of opening a factory set to find they have welded together into some strange new alloy!
Be sure to post the '76 Lynn and Rice when they come back. That Fab Freddy is one of my all-time favorites. I collect Topps AS cards and have him in all his glory with a '77 Topps in PSA 10. He was a great player IMO. For the record, I am a Yankees fan but appreciate the colorful history of the Bosox too. Don't tell any of my close friends though.
Great display! I'm inspired...I need to do something similar with my graded Cubs collection.
Nice, post pictures if you do. Cubs were always my NL team.
Fourth Panel is complete! Here is a picture:
Here is the full shot of what I have framed up so far:
Beautiful!
Thanks for sharing!
I agree 100% but It might already have Babe Ruth, Wade Boggs, Roger Clemens, Don Zimmer, and Johnny Damon though. Nice collection otherwise
Exactly my point! Plenty of crossover between the two teams. Damon isn't in the Sox HOF, but I do already have Boggs (not framed up yet), Clemens, and Zimmer. I also have Mike Lowell and Luis Tiant. Still need Duffy Lewis, Red Ruffing, and the Babe.
Super nice once again. How do you decide which card goes in which panel? Just curious.
Thank you! Right now panel assignment is based on acquisition timing. Eventually, I will re-sort them. Given that I am framing as I collect, I think I managed to capture a reasonable eye appeal. I try to balance in a given frame card style, playing year, etc. For example, that last frame, I have a modern card in the upper left and lower right with a 50's card in the upper right and lower left. Two 70's cards on either side in the middle.
Uncle Teddy..
The Splendid Splinter. Hung this up in my 6 year old's room and he loves it!
Great project and display.
I'll be honest, though, whenever I see stuff displayed I start worrying about light. Sunlight or fluorescent light will fade those cards.
Yes, but on the other hand, what is the point of collecting if you can't enjoy it? My collection is small but what I have I intend to enjoy.
There are different ways to enjoy things. Personally, I enjoy knowing I am preserving things for the next generations of custodians. I am able to enjoy owning things because earlier owners did not destroy them.
If you won't even avoid sunlight and florescent lights (and that includes the twisty bulbs) then what is the purpose of getting them graded? They will fade in the slabs. The grades on the labels will become irrelevant.
Just my opinion....
I always loved the 2nd year fisk with the rookie cup. great card and he looks so serious.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Love this thread. Great collection.
As a Sox fan I'd love to see the 1980 Topps Fred Lynn added to your collection. My favorite card growing up of my favorite player.
Keep posting your additions!
