Whatever it is appears interesting. Need a clearer pic.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

I'll have to take them to work under better magnification if this doesnt work.

It's a well known variety. It was listed years ago (mid 60's) in "Major Variety and Oddity Guide to US Coins" by Frank Spadone.

    "Quote"
Frank Spadone wrote a 1954S cent into his guides back in the early 70s that brought about the misunderstood "San Jose" mint cents. There was no such thing, but the die crack on some of the 1954S cents made the mintmark look like an "SJ". Often people would write "SJ" on their 2x2s to note this anomaly. In reality die cracks extending off the mintmark are rather common and warrant no premium value.

    Interesting.
I'll put one in a 2x2 and see if there is any interest at the next coin meeting.

I picked up 1000+ wheat cents (actually was 1018 wheats, a 1959 and 50 Indian head cents) for $75.
Was looking to combine shipping with other sellers listing but work got in the way and I missed the other listings that I really wanted more...the cents where to be the bonus.
    Best laid plans and all...

Thank you for the information about this cent.

I have had the one I posted since the 1960's when I found it in circulation.

Interesting variety.... I have not seen one 'in hand', but have read about them in the past. Cheers, RickO
