Well with one week to go (12/10/20) for this set, prices are listed for....$200.00...No wait...what?... $201.00.
Of course, prices will change again, eventually. You almost get three ounces of silver with this set. Maybe the box costs $1.00

gonna get 2 🤙
They raised the price of it in October. It’ll be the last one I buy. Although I might get a 2017 one on the secondary market to have a 4 year set.
I do like the fact they're all 99.9 silver. But at the same time, there really isn't anything new to the offering here. It would be cool if they added a unique coin or medal to this set.
I actually liked the look of 90% silver a bit more. But I do think they should make a silver cent and nickel for the limited set. That would be real cool.
Have they ever minted a silver cent???
the closest is a pattern coin - 1792 silver center cent.
nothing with silver ever issued as a coin.
That is some very expensive silver or some very expensive packaging. Either way, that is a pricey set for what it is.
Yes, it’s priced ridiculously high. But I’ll do it for this final time. I don’t care for the next SAE design so next year would be out anyway unless they put both designs in it.
I will get one. I have 2016 thru 2019, so I will want the 2020 to close out and since 2020 has been such a strange year,,,
Well @Joe_360 you could get TWO. That's the HHL.
They should lower the mintage to 1,000 and make them more desirable.
for those wanting a little spice, the 2021 limited silver set has coins from multiple mints, so there'll at least be 2 eagles in that one - probably be $350 by then ...
Can you imagine a 99.9 % Silver Lincoln Cent ?
That would be so cool.
I would totally buy a set if all the coins were silver, including the cent & nickel.
That would set it apart from the Silver Proof Set & American Eagle lumped into a repackaged set.
What is the drive to want to buy a "Limited Edition Set" ?
Nothing new or special about it, just the packaging.
Chris
Wow...that is expensive....I will wait and see what the individual ASE's are priced at.... I do not think this set will break sales records... Cheers, RickO
bullion exchanges offering a whopping $20/set for pre-committing to send in your spoils ... think ill be keeping mine 😂
I don't know this year. I'm using next years coin budget for coins today. I little like Wimpy's tag line - I'll pay you tomorrow for a hamburger today Since I get the Silver Proof Set I get most of what the Limited set offers. I've gotten one in previous years but probably not this year.
A silver cent. Now that's a great idea! I like it!!
Where do you see this offering?
Bwhahahaha. Glad I stopped buying proof sets decades ago. Nice to look at but a poor investment.
Buy the pieces slabbed from someone else.

Unless, you have a proof set from 1964 or before, you would be hard pressed to make money on a proof set. However, most people collect or give them out as gifts.
$73 bucks an oz. is a bit steep you all agree? Will this be a 5 minute sellout?

In an email I don't think they've read
It is overpriced but I’ll do it this time for some reason. It hasn’t sold out on the first day any other year so I doubt it will this time, too.
taken from mint website describing the total silver content in the set-
"This set contains 2.75 ounces (78.04 grams) of silver"
so almost 3 oz. of 99.9% silver. different from previous year's total weight. so, yes, from a bullion point of view it's expensive but it is a special combination of silver content not seen before which I believe adds the value to the set. If you're just a bullion (intrinsic value) purchaser this set is not for you.
Last year’s set was 0.999 fine as well. 2018 was the last 0.900 fine set (for non SAE).
Is it expensive, yes. Is it a good investment, no. But I'll still get one on my W quarter reserves...
A $20 profit beats a $50 loss
No direct sale Mint product is for bullion purchaser's. But you have to be a set collector...and how many of those are left?
what does that mean? of course I read it - $20 - wasn't slicing hairs on shipping - why u gotta be a dick?
I saw that offer by Bullion Exchanges. It appears as an insult. They offer $20 to go through the trouble of ordering the set and then shipping it to them at our own expense? The $20 may just barely cover shipping (and insurance).

I THINK that @MsMorrisine means that 'Bullion Exchanges' has not proofread their own offer.
One would not 'net/profit' $40.00 on two sets after the shipping cost is paid.
ok, and my orig point - the $20 is laughable - is made no less true by the actual, specific net "profit" to the purchaser being $10 or $12.38 - anything $0—$20 is laughable and shouldn't entice anyone - imo, its obscene that these companies are trying to bait people with pennies so that they can make thousands of dollars in profit; if $20 is a joke, certainly anything less that that is a joke as well
There's not a chance that Bullion Exchange is going t o make thousands on these. They actually pay pretty fairly in my experience. If they are paying $20 over, they are probably selling them at $50-$100 over. And they have all the risk.
The fact is that making $15 on a coin just for flipping it is a pretty good profit with almost zero risk.
The 2019 Limited Edition silver set had a 50,000 mintage also and sold for $149.95 from the Mint. You can buy them from eBay at $159.95 with free shipping if you want one. What makes you think that the $200 2020 version is going to be a big mover?
Anyone who bought the 2019 set and is still holding it didn't even make the $20 that you are scoffing at.
P.S. Pre-sale on eBay of these are in the $250 to $350 range right now.
The 2019 set was also 0.999 fine. Sold for $150. Still available on eBay for $160 with free shipping. So, if the "first" "special combination" set (also 50,000 mintage) is $160 set, what makes $201 a good price for the 2020 version?
I'm done with these high priced mint sets. Back to collecting classic coinage!

What makes you think that the $200 2020 version is going to be a big mover?
Back to my original point, it's not $200, it's $201. I know, I know, close enough, but the pricing goes against everything I ever learned in retail pricing, they should have actually priced these for $199. Or even better, $199.95
$199.99 gets them an extra 4 cents.
I assume they are using a formula to price them which is why they ended up at $201.
Too many hoops to jump thru:
-ordered before 12:10pm
No thanks!
um, I dont? 🤔 I'm not the one offering people money for pre-committments
duh
good luck to all punters - site is already doing ip checks and acting slow 😂
My guess it will sell out faster than folks think because it’s the last chance to get the ASE S mint mark. (Other than secondary market).
it took me a number of times to check out - whether you want one or not, there are a ton of buyers buying atm
2020 Bat coin...pandemic...get it?
Bat...animal...human is the current thinking.
site moving very fast past few minutes - seems like v busy off the bat and then died off; more than enough $73/oz silver left 🙃
Hmm, I had no trouble at all checking out and getting my order.

Dunno why; 2020 was such a crappy year, but I'm in for two. Checkout was slow but nothing like 2019 ERP or V75 day.
the palladium coin had 10,000 limit. it sold up to 9,998 with "remind me" continuously showing.
net sales are now 8,841
do not underestimate the power of the returns.
