This stuff is hilarious, Dennis Green is right up there with one of the dumbest calls ever. Big Bill’s name is mentioned a few times which is funny https://www.golocalprov.com/sports/the-10-dumbest-coaching-decisions-in-nfl-history

serious question -- are there any rumors of the fix being in to preserve the topspot in the draft?

we all know Williams's role, but watch the play again -- #38 is biting on a double move when the only play that can win the game is a streak to the house

i'm not cynical by nature, but i am having a very hard time wrapping my head around this one

I have not heard rumors regarding this , but haven't looked for them either. His reputation, at least on the surface, is colored by Bounty Gate already.

That Pete Carroll Super Bowl call was a doozie, but I know you Patriots fans here on the forum think Pete's call was the best possible call. ;)

Weird how Cowher just got out and didn’t come back. That would be interesting. Jimmy Johnson is another that just retired and never looked back

As a lot of fellow Patriots fans have done, I've gone out of my way to watch the documentary and film analysis that goes into this play and the months of preparation that got the Patriots into the position to make that play. And I disagree with the idea that you make here. Curious to hear other opinions.

Taking my love of the call away based on being a Pats fan here.. there is zero reason to make that throw. Lynch was the call, case closed and I don’t see how it’s debatable. Yea if it was a score with the throw nobody would be saying it was risky but by all rights the chances of a pick in that congested area are much higher than Lynch fumbling. Bad play call in my opinion but I loved it

Have you watched the backstory on that specific defensive call/formation?

Coach Nagy ordering Trubitsky to take a knee rather than run the ball to get his kicker in a better position last year because he was afraid of a fumble even though his RB had a career game and the kicker missed

took 6 weeks of therapy for me to move past that call. i had actually eliminated it from my mind, unbelievably. but now that it's back at the forefront, i consider it worse than Williams's gaffe. it's one thing to lack situational awareness and lose your ever-loving mind in the process, but coaching like you weren't born with a sack is infinitely worse imo.

i wonder if nagy and trubisky would fit in a priority mail express box

Not but I do know they practiced for that particular situation or something along those lines..,

Ernie Adams saw that as a situation they needed to prepare for. So there is video of the different DBs going through practice reps, even of Malcolm unsuccessfully executing the defense. Browner played a huge role in getting Malcolm prepped for that too.

I’m Skeptical to be honest. I don’t know how Williams would benefit from this, I mean maybe to get Gase fired because ultimately Gase could have overruled that play call and called a TO but Williams made the call so no way it wouldn’t have fallen on him. I think the guy is just a flat out idiot

No way he threw the game on purpose. Head offices do that with fire sales. Coaches and players need a job next week or year.

The Jets got spanked yesterday losing to the Seahawks by the score of 40-3. They are now 0-13. Bill Cowher has commented on whether or not he's interested in taking the Jets job and he said he's not.

My defense of Sam Darnold ended yesterday at 6:00 CST. The Jets have the 2nd worst pass defense in the league. The only team worse? The Seahawks. Darnold went out and smoked this defense to the tune of 14-26 for 132 yards. 4-12 on 3rd down and Seahawks dropped 3 sure interceptions, 2 were pick 6’s. This is the same defense Allen went 31-38 415 and 3 TD’s. If Darnold can’t pass against that defense well my defense of Sam ended yesterday. A side note is this is his 3rd year and he’s yet to sniff a full season because of injuries. After the Jets draft Lawrence the Jets might get a 6th rounder for the #3 pick just 3 years ago. Looking more and more like out of the 4 QB’s drafted in 2018 Josh Allen is heads above the rest.

Well leave it to the Rams to just embarrass themselves today. I had two huge parlay bets going on today, both bets I had the money line on the Rams so they HAD to beat the pathetic Jets but the NFL does it’s best job to absolutely wreck hopes and dreams. I didn’t let them though. My two bets I wagered $200 total and was in position to win about 1K. Jets went up 10-0 and I had and opportunity to cash out at $400 so I DID. Glad the Jets ended up winning 🤷‍♂️

@perkdog cashed out in-game? who is that with? PM me if you're more comfortable. well done btw

if anyone thinks wagering on NFL games is simple, that game serves as a paradigm for the difficulty involved

first we have the Jets who suck so badly that they dont even know how to properly suck

then we have a trendy SB pick in the Rams who were favored by 17 points against one of the worst teams in NFL history and never had the lead the entire game :D

Got knocked out of survivor by the 17 point favorite Rams. We were down to 5 out of 30 with a $100 entry. Just peachy. Just lovely.

Ofcourse Bud, it’s the Draft Kings Casino & Sportsbook App. I was shocked they offered a cash out option myself, I just know all to well how the NFL loves to stick to you with “Sure things” because there is zero reason that that the Rams should lose but down 10=0 I said screw it, they won’t ruin my day today 😂

i kinda figured that, but wasn't certain. i can play fantasy for coin all day long on there, but if i set foot in the sportsbook i get tossed out by my ear. makes perfect sense.

but that is a sweet option they provide on parlays. really smart move on your part. i didn't have a cent on the Rams game but in my heart of hearts i felt them going down, hence my "lol @ the Rams" post on the scores thread while it was still in the 2nd quarter.

I have two residences, in Massachusetts I can’t use it but once I step 1 mm into New Hampshire I am good to go it’s ridiculous really. Certain states don’t allow it, location services on my cell phone has to be on for me to access the betting. As far as the Jets game I did think about taking the points but a 40-7 Rams victory was entirely possible and probably would have made more sense but I took the word “Sense” out of any conversation when talking NFL a long time ago lol

Jets fans are mad at their punter, Braden Mann, for screwing up their chances at getting Trevor Lawrence. Late in the fourth quarter against the Rams, the Jets were leading 23-20 when they punted the ball away. Rams return man Nsimba Webster broke away and looked like he might take it to the house, but Jets punter Braden Mann was able to bring Webster down after a 34 yard return. The Jets held on defense, and ended up winning the game. Well now, the Jets fans are furious with Braden Mann, and have been telling him on social media that he screwed up their chances at getting Trevor Lawrence.
