After a 6 month dry spell....

I decided to pick this up. It spoke to me and it can help me to move forward with my Franklin set. It’s only my second Franklin, so I still have a long way to go. : Thoughts please.

What a handsome man!
It’s a fairly common look (overall, not talking grade) for Franklins and I used to stay away from them, but I’ve come to enjoy and appreciate it.
Based on what I can tell on my phone it looks like a really nice example of an early Frank.
A great way to end a drought.
I think MS65FBL from a Mint Set and looking like what everyone would call original. I like it, though I'm a bit disappointed, I though you hadn't bought any Walkers in six months and I thought you were showing some eye candy.
I will say that this speckled toning look is not one I like even though I also have one that is similar. What would concern me is what appears to be a rather large spot just right of the bell crack. But if it meets with your approval then I am happy for you.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Yup, it does have that mint set look to it, Very Nice, I Like It

The toning (particularly on the reverse) appears to be a bit corrosive (based on my reading of the photos). Between that and the overall aesthetic, it's not a coin I would buy, but since it appeals to you, congrats on adding it to your collection.
I do like Franklin halves - I have a set. However, that would not be one I would select. That being said, all coins need a home and some love.....
Cheers, RickO
I think it's one of those coins you either love or hate.
I like it! Do I detect a "tooth" protruding out from that upper lip? Lol

--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.A high grade FBL Franklin with toning that some will love but many will hate. It is very original in appearance which is a positive.
It’s a PCGS MS 66 without the full bell lines designation, however, I think that it deserves to be FBL. It also has a CAC sticker. It has very original mint set toning, though not spectacular, a testament to its originality. Better than a plain, dipped, white coin, in my opinion. I do not find the light toning to be distracting and I like the originality. It is a key date and was fresh to the market and the price was right, so I jumped on it. There was a very similar looking 1949 P PCGS MS 66 FBL CAC, that was offered along with it, that I probably should’ve bought, too, and it also sold immediately. Hindsight is always 20/20. Just glad with what I got. I have wanted a 1949-S for a long time. Ever since selling my PCGS MS 65. I really like Franklins and they don't get the credit that they deserve. They are undervalued, IMHO, unless they have rainbow color or are FBL strike rarities, such as the 1953-S.

I think it has a nice original mint set look to it. Are you planning on a full date/mm business strike set? Happy thanksgiving
Cool mint set toning. Put together a nicely matched set!

I like that you said the coin spoke to you. I too follow that voice, and it makes collecting fun, and when you look at your coins, all the more enjoyable! If you like it, that's all that matters. It's a great coin for your 2nd one towards the set. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to seeing you fill more holes in your set.
