PCGS Box of 10

JeffMTampaJeffMTampa Posts: 3,263 ✭✭✭✭✭

Perhaps this topic has been previously posted and I missed it, but it's new to me. I received an order of 6 coins graded by PCGS today. The shipping box was the same as what has been used for the last couple of years/ a cardboard box the right size for a PCGS plastic box (black lately). I was expecting to find the typical plastic box inside, but instead I found this cardboard box of 10:

Has anyone else received this box?

I love them Barber Halves.....

Yep, it’s been what they’ve been doing for most people over the last few months when there are 10 or fewer slabs.

They're likely trying to cut costs.

The cardboard boxes are 'nice' but I prefer the plastic ones.

I like the plastic ones but I really do like the cardboard ones. It’s very nice for re-shipping when you want to send a smaller set of slabs to people. The slabs don’t even rattle if you close it tightly.

Glad that they're working out for you. :)

A plastic box that size would be nice.

Red, white & blue marbled would be cool. :)

Would love to have a box like that but without the tape around it. I wonder if it would damage the box if tape is removed.

I like the paper ones just fine. I really don't need a new plastic box every time I submit 2-5 coins.

MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

Have not received any so far. And I've been submitting coins pretty frequently. Although, I am waiting for another as we speak. Maybe, this delivery will be the cardboard box? Hope not. ;)

I like it! Wasn't aware of these. Too bad PCGS wraps tape around it. I wish they didn't.

I was able to carefully remove some of the tape without damaging the box.
Slow and careful is the trick. :D

If the tape seems too stuck to the paper maybe warming it with a hair dryer would help.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Perhaps they will now venture into different color cardboard boxes >:) Another collecting niche...and it looks like some 'data' on the end panel.... more potential 'qualifiers' for box collectors. ;) Cheers, RickO
