The coolest reverse reverse error I have ever seen, mind blown. The reverse is very nice, at least 66 quality, but the obv has some marks in the field and on the shoulder, also the luster seems muted so I'll say PCGS called it MS65.
........very interesting. No one but PCGS called 66+. I’d never in a million years crack That out. Lucky grade. I think the grade is influenced by a 68 reverse. This particular coin is all about the the lettering on the obverse though, , that’s the focal point. The shoulder hits and contact marks in the field hurt. Nice coin and a Very early August 1972 circulation pick no doubt, that’s when I found mine. The “news had hit” that this doubled die Cent was out there and worth money and every kid collector worth his salt roll hunted! I did find about a half dozen of what today would be the lesser known varieties, but at the time they “didn’t count”. Over the years I lost track of the folded Saran Wrap I had them in.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
10 million! perhaps fred can chime in on how the reverse is reversed.
the photos aren't the best.
small, glare, a bit dark.... instead of placing them sideways, stack the pictures vertically.
I'll take DR56SM.. that must be how the grade will appear on this holder. Perhaps they can put the reverse showing first.
I’m not great at grading coins from pics but I’ll say 65 red. A very cool coin.

Some dings on the obverse, but also appears to have some luster... So MS64.... Cheers, RickO
64RD but that reverse would be killer

The obverse is way better than my 64RD specimen regarding nicks. I have the same color difference on the reverse.
Perhaps they were coined a little darker reverse-wise?
65RD all day.

because almost everyone else said 65rd, i'll say 64rd.

65RD. It's hard to find 1972 cents from any mint with blazing luster, same with 1973 and 1974.

Better than I thought. Congrats.
I shouldn't be surprised at the grade. 72DD obverses usually come pretty banged up.
