W Marsh Billings "Error"???
So I found a bunch MB W's quarters and I was looking thru them and I found this.
I tried to get one in low light and one in high light as I know too much light can make it look better/worse than it is. It sort of looks like the Kansas In God We Rust error.
Thoughts and input would be greatly appreciated.

Do we think this is post Mint damage? OP says it came from new coin box not circulated old coin mix
the spot by IN G looks like struck through, probably grease.
So is this considered an "error" and should the OP get it graded as such by our host?
1) it would help if we knew for sure what the OP was asking about. Is the "this" the weak I in IGWT?
2) if that is the issue, it looks like a minor grease filled die. Yes, an error, but value is minimal so, no, probably not worth stabbing.
3) the coin seems to be resting on a 2x2 whose staples have not been flattened. Flatten those staples before they scratch something.
Cool
Very, VERY, minor greasy die. Do not even consider slabbing.
@Abbc10 .... Welcome aboard... Appears to be a minor grease filled die... No numismatic premium. Cheers, RickO
The "this" I was aksing about is the weak or missing "I".
I found this in a box of new rolls.
So we think it's a cool error but not a valuable error.
I need to flatten my staples, got it.
Again, I'm new so all tips, comments, and recommendations are welcome as I'm hear to learn.

@Abbc10 .... Grease filled dies are fairly common, usually minor. Once in a while there is a major grease filled die causing significant visual anomaly.... Such a coin may command a premium from error collectors. If you do a search on this forum, I am sure you can find many pictures of this anomaly. Cheers, RickO
generally, missing or very weak letters have a little more interest. since this is a new issue, we don't know how many will surface but so far, not that i have looked specifically for them, they seem to not be common, yet.
i'd keep it back for a while and check from time to time to see if collectors are paying premiums. i've seen some things for moderns that have shocked me several times and when your cost basis is face value, you can dump em at any time with no loss. i don't know your standards but say people end up buying these for 6-10 bucks, i'd say it is a win. i am NOT saying people will pay but but just trying to give some scale.
This is the best news I have heard in a while.
A lot of newcomers don't want to learn, they just want their fantasies to be validated, so you are ahead of them already.
I meant to add, there is nothing wrong with keeping coins that look interesting even if not valuable. If I found that coin I'd probably hold onto it as a reference piece.
