1917 Walking Liberty Half Dollar - Dual OBV / REV Mint Mark? D. Carr fantasy piece idea?

D. Carr has made a triple mint mark Jefferson War Nickel fantasy piece, you may have seen one in the D. Carr thread, obverse, reverse on the right side of Monticello AND the large mint mark above the dome. Does anyone think that it was possible for the 1917 Walking Liberty Half Dollar, which originated with mint mark on the obverse in 1916, then transitioned to the reverse in late months on 1917, to have an obverse die with MM combined with the reverse die with MM? We have heard of some the midnight antics at the mint, but was just wondering if this occurred with the half dollar of 1917?

Thank you for your interest and comments.

None that I have ever read or heard about. Anything is possible, but if so, I believe it would be purposeful and not accidental.

In all my years, I have never seen nor heard of one. I doubt that one exists but stranger things have happened.

Could another fantasy piece be in the works...or has the Walking Liberty design been done to ad-nauseum?

That would be a cool find... especially since none are known at this time... would be amazing if such a coin existed for this long without anyone spotting it... Now I will be checking my WLH's :D;) Cheers, RickO
