Party like it's 1999 (or how time flies)

As I put the last 2 quarters in my National Parks Dansco, completing the year 2020 (and only leaving 1 type for 2021 to complete the Album), I think back to January 1999 when my local dealer brought back two Delaware quarters.

Hard to believe we are two months short of that being 22 years ago.

Amazing how time flies! The Statehood Quarters were an amazing series.

A lot of thanks to Mike Castle for this:

Known as "The Coinage Congressman," the Honorable Mike Castle introduced legislation that authorized a number of important modern US coin programs while he served as a member of the US House of Representatives from 1993–2011. He authored and / or sponsored bills that resulted in the transformative 50 States Quarters Program, the Sacagawea Dollar, the Presidential Dollar Series and numerous commemoratives.

1999 was also a great year for error coins.

I thought I read that the Mint brought in 50,000,000 -100,000,000 new collectors into the hobby with their state quarter program. Dbldie- do you recall when they left? 😉

1999 was definitely a high point in many ways. Congrats on your goal. I lost interest years ago as I was acquiring too much!

Seems like the older you get the faster it flies by too.
