Is Verdicare really Carboshield BTX? Also, info about anticorrosive lubricant the mint uses on coins

Just wondering, I was wanting to get some Verdicare to try and stop some corrosion on some large cents and it doesn’t seem to be available anymore, so I started trying to figure out what it was made out of and stumbled onto this article after reading that Verdicare bonds to the metal and stops corrosion and the guy who invented it said it’s what the mint now uses to make coins corrosion resistant.

That was a great read. It answered my questions about newly minted coin staining, the Sacagawea experimental rinse dollar error variety. I also learned about dirt on die conditions and die life expectancy. Thanks. Highly recommended to all. Peace Roy
