I'm hoping persistence will pay off.
Hi guy's, yes I bought another box of pennies! Lol. This will be my 3rd box in about 6 weeks. Not counting who knows how many single rolls I searched through since then? I am ready to have some fun this weekend, hopefully this will be the box that will hand over that elusive, "1992 Close AM?" I'll let you guys know if anything found significant. Thanks

Good luck! I hope it’s in there.
Fingers crossed, Joey. Hopefully an IHC or two as well.
I never knew penny's had to breath

The holes are placed to reduce the weight of the box.
See http://www.doubledimes.com for a free online reference for US twenty-cent pieces
I thought the holes were there to accelerate the toning process.
I've never had any luck searching rolls from banks, but I hope you do!
Hang on! I'm getting something. Yes, yes, you are going to find, hang on... A 1937 D wheat.
I can just feel it
Lol. Yeah, there must be a wild animal inside, like the "1992 Close AM" Beast?
I hope!

Put on the mask and get the wet ones out - you can never be too careful. I foresee dirty fingers in your future.
I'm wondering how many time's one washes their hand's going through a 25 dollar box

You know what guys? I know I said my goal was to find the 1992 Close AM variety. But reality, any coin that would be worth sending in to grade would satisfy me.

Happy hunting.
I'm guessing the biggest payoff will be for the muscle tone in your arms.
Don't use the Wet Ones to clean them.
Penny for your thoughts!
Looks like a coin star run is in order

Indeed it is. And I’ll try not to post any PMD later...
No guarantees 😜
Joey, how you coming along? I've already been through a box after dinner out and a late start. I have one shiner and some machine doubling that caused a double take
Lol. I'm still at work. Only took one roll out of the box to bring inside so I can check. Went through that roll. Nothing but a few 1983's to weigh when I get home.

That '87 is awesome. Looks like a match to me. Good going.

I find Penny roll searching to be very relaxing. I haven’t done it in a couple of years but was doing it a lot a few years back when life’s stresses were overwhelming. That, in combination with the right music, and occasionally the right glass of Port, made for a pretty effective stress escape route.
As far as escapes, and vices, it was a pretty harmless one!

Don't work too hard
Hardly working! Lol
Your making me want to go to my car and get some more rolls from my box. Lol.

--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.I have a couple of gallon jars of cents to go through some cold, snowy day... one is a jar of wheaties as well... Somehow I always seem to have other things to do... Actually, that is probably good.... Although coin searching is interesting to me, I do not look forward to the time when that will be all I can do...
So - off to the day's adventures for me...
Cheers, RickO
1988, an Error coin? Only the third roll in.

At first I thought, "PMD". Until I seen the area at 5:00 Obv.
Mostly on the obverse.

Oh really? Oh well, never mind. Thanks! To be continued...

Why would you weigh 1983's?
Lance.
To determine their weight, of course!

Yes, some are copper (post 1982). Even the "small Date" 1982, has a copper contents, 3.1g, as opposed to 2.5 g. BIG money!

OP: Why do you call the US coin a "penny" but the Canadian counterpart a "cent"?
You're persistence did pay off. The 10 rappen has a face value of about 11 cents. You just need to go to Switzerland to realize your 1000% profit on that coin.
@joeykoins
Good find on the 68-D/D #1.
Coin is rough but should still be worth a couple of bucks.
