Coins for Halloween and Meeting Today's Trick-or-Treating Challenge - a photo essay

Remember that one house that forgot it was Halloween and its candy less occupants would drop a handful of small change into the trick-or-treat bag? Then there are likely some here who save up special coins to share with invited special little masked guests as treats on the end of October holiday.
Well this year's trick-or-treating added a unique challenge for those desiring to maintain recommended social distancing. Here in chronology are photos of how we met that challenge at our place:
The day began appropriately with a pumpkin colored sunrise:
It was then followed by the late afternoon shadows foretelling a spooky night ahead:
The preparations then began by attaching a rope to a treat filled basket that could be suspended from the second level deck:
Finally, as night fell and the ghosts and goblins arrived, "Operation Candy Drop" went into full swing:

Great pictures and an interesting technique. Though we usually have well over 200 trick or treaters here, the neighborhood was relatively quiet last night (though there were some ghosts and goblins about). We left the light off here. Oh well.... Next year we should be back to normal. Cheers, RickO
Great idea for the kids. There were no trick or treaters in my area. It looks like a war zone from ice storms.
I was a bit surprised to learn from a daughter residing in semi lock down California that they had over 70 trick or treaters come by last night. Probably one reason for the number though was that there was a house on their street that was decked out with all kinds of Halloween animations that was a must see for many in the entire city.
Hope all had a Happy Halloween.
Gorgeous views!!!!!!!!!
Thanks
