Came across this little gem 1961 Franklin Proof half dollar and upon inspection with my microscope I can see the extra punch marks. Any advice would be appreciated.

If legit, a DDR
BHNC #203
It shouldn't require re-grading. It's a matter of just adding the DDR designation to the slab label if the grading service can verify that it's a DDR.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
I am seeing extra outlines on both sides of the letters,
which may simply be reflections off the mirrored field.
Here's a page with known DDRs for 1961 Franklin half dollars:

@MRMONOPOLY .... Welcome aboard.... I cannot conclude anything from that picture....Unlikely to be a DDR if not attributed - unless it is very minor. Most likely some machine doubling, which does not command a premium. Better pictures would help... straight on with no light reflections. Cheers, RickO
what microscope do you use? been shopping and can't decide on what will be best for coin inspection - thx
It is just a common date proof Franklin. Because of the mirror surfaces doubling often proves to be an optical illusion. In any case it is not worth having it regraded.
I have no idea why minor double dies are getting so much attention today. My own feeling is that if you need a magnifying glass to see it it is not important.
PCGS offers a variety attribution service. There's detailed information on the website.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
If it has very strong doubling of E PLURIBUS UNUM, UNITED STATES, and HALF DOLLAR it could be fairly valuable.
Here's a link to the Coinfacts page for the 1961 DDR proof.
Lance.
You can always pay to have something regraded.
But in your case I am not seeing the DD based on the photo (maybe MD).
@RickO I added a new picture without the light glare
you can save that microscope image and post the saved image instead.
You can have a coin regraded because of the phase of the moon, IF you are willing to pay the fee.
Whether the TPG will agree it is a recognized variety, that's a different question.

I'm going to guess MD from comparing your image with the one @Ikeigwin posted.
