2021 Silver American Eagles are REALLY going to screw up Dansco and other albums (and collectors)...

Haven't been as active, but I just, finally, got the 2020 SAEs so I could fill up our couple of albums.
Then, I got an email from Apmex saying the USMint was going to do the current design INTO 2021 and then, later in the year, switch TO the new design.
So, for 2021, there will be TWO designs for the SAEs.....

Any "purist"/"completist" that uses albums is either going to have to wait and get new albums, or get out the label maker and screw it all up from 2021 on.....

Slab and roll collectors won't have that issue.

Will be interesting to see when this happens and which design ends up having a lot less minted for the year.....gonna be some collector scrambling I think, at some point

I don't have to worry about it too much. I have one slot left for the 2021. I'm gonna just get one of either and then stop buying them. Will probably stay with the old design so it matches the rest.

Actually, it won't screw the bullion ASE album ( #7181) up at all. It ends with 2021. The next page can start with 2021 and go through 2029.

I bought the extra "blank" page for mine and already added it....I am one that it "screws up" and am using a label maker

I stopped the series when they skipped a year....Picked up one or two specials since then. Would like to get the WWII privy marked ASE though. Cheers, RickO

It might be a little screwy now, but is making for an excellent series in its entirety whatever that may be.
It’s been fun living through this series & while thinking of series past....

After looking at the 2021 schedule that the Mint just put out, it appears that there will be 7 and maybe 8 different ASEs next year - reverse variations, finishes, and mint marks.

They appear to be taking advantage of the growing number of ASE set collectors and completists among us. I anticipate a lot of complaining - especially if some of them are limited mintage editions.
