That's a great example of a doubled die.
Double die. Look at the split serif on the G in Jugoslavia (and elsewhere).

Excellent example of a Class V (pivoted hub) doubled die, with the pivot point around K-9:30 and a counterclockwise shift.
Was this a cherrypick or did you buy it attributed? I will have to add this one to my list of foreign DDs to look for.

Nice example of a doubled die. There are some real monsters of foreign d dies out there. I've posted this one before but I'll post it again-

Mexico and Brazil both have some really nice d dies. In fact, the entire current coinage of Brazil contains excellent examples of every denomination.
thanks.
ya i went on a foreign bucket rampage this morning and i usually look at yugo, brazil, chile maybe a few mexico. bought several pounds. thankfully found some decent stuff, especially that unc mexico mid-20th century group.
@koynekwest
VERY nice. i've only found one and yours appears much nicer than the one i found. mine was au something. traded it for some books.
SSsshhhhhh!!! Foreign varieties are fast becoming my favorite things to cherrypick. I've been spending more and more time hunting in the foreign coin categories on eBay, not only Mexico and Brazil but Colombia and early German issues (1920s through the 40s) are absolutely ripe with varieties. You can get a lot of bang for your buck too, like the coin you shared - there is nothing close to that on US coinage that the average collector could afford.
Also... remember half an hour ago when I said I would add the OP's coin to my list of hunting targets? Well it wasn't on that list for long, as there was one with a very reasonable Buy It Now sitting unattributed on eBay.

I have the whole set-1c thru the real. It makes a nice set. I also have the big Mexico 1978 10c and the 1981/82 20c. If these were US coins they'd be worth considerable money.
If you ever stumble across any duplicates, let me know, those are all on my list. I have a nice Mexican 1979 20c DDO but not the two big ones you mentioned.
Here's a close-up picture of a 1947/5 Colombian 20 Centavo, imagine the buzz a nice clear overdate like this would cause on a US coin:

DD
Nice DD there.... I have some foreign coins... silver... Been in the family for many, many years. I never checked them for DD's or other anomalies.... No idea why, just kept them as coins my father had. Will do that forthwith... Cheers, RickO
OP coin is textbook Class V doubling.

here is one of the uruguays mentioned. not sure if you had seen this. look at both sides of all denoms.
i picked up a 1997 brasil 10 cent i think may be double struck or it is ddo/ddr. i thought erosion at first but the separation is pretty far apart and clear. need better pics first.
i don't recall seeing such strong clashing on this india coin before. i was checking for the nice dd that this one is known to have.
Will do, seanq. Hey-that rhymes!
Great Class I doubling.

Awesome doubling!
That is a nice example.
Very nice examples of dd and rotation. I'm always looking for that. The hunt continues. Peace Roy

Here's a nice clash on a lowly India one pice. Peace Roy

nice coin and a nice asoka lion clash.
Foreign coins can be really interesting when searching for varieties.

This coin was from 1893 yet a 3 is punched in over the 8 making it 5
centuries older than when minted
this is the most rotated date clash for the type i've seen yet. usually it is up around k12 which this one has as well.
the ngc world coin photo shows a nice ddr, look at centavos. obv has concentric scribe marks AND a nice k12 date multi-clash.
for now, i think this is the best i can do. these steel surfaces are an absolute bear to image to show the ddo/ddr. it probably isn't d/s but it is one odd dd coin.
Here's a Mexican monster-

what are moose called in mexico!!
an exceptional example.
isn't there one with that type of reverse with a very nice spread as well. i don't recall years or denoms for most foreign ddo/ddr etc, just the designs.
The one I posted is the strongest I know of and it's an excellent example of a Class I doubled die. It's also quite rare with only a handful known. I also have the 1981/82 but no pic of that one.
Extremely interesting coins. I know this is a US coin forum but this thread breaks up the usual posts in a very enlightening way. Thanks from a side liner.
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
in looking up some foreign i came across this image (again?) and thought i'd share it here. always find it neat when a variety/error is used somewhere generic like this ngc world coin lookup, coinfacts etc. photograde is notorious for using amazing coins in random spots.
Very noticeable. Thanks to all for sharing. Some interesting doubling going on with these coins.

Mexico has some outstanding doubled dies. That is one of them. Very nice!!

ttt for anyone interested
cherried myself, i guess. i didn't intentionally purchase the ddo yugo coin.
was going through a few pounds and found some i didn't recall putting in my keep pile (a big one).
so without further ado:
.
.
.
and this one where the name is SO small, i wouldn't use the tip of a pen to point it out but rather the tip of a needle!
i did intentionally purchase this one. only one of its type in what i looked through, that i saw in 2 different 15-20 lb buckets.
