What do the color dots mean on the back of Stack's slabs?

When purchasing from Stack's Bowers, I've noticed they have a colored dot sticker they affix to the back of the slab. In a recent shipment, I received some different colors on different slabs. What do these colors signify?

Stack’s might be able to answer that for you.

They have people on the forums so my fingers are crossed!
Yours, Mr. Feld is not a polite nor accurate answer.
If I had a question regarding a mint made coin I'd be distressed if you recommended in a response I
contact the United States Mint for an answer.
Perhaps there are those here who would know what the coding dot decals on the back of Stack's coin flips and/or slabs
mean. Perhaps not.
I'd imagine a coin forum such as this with many collectors and dealers from all walks of life may well have an answer that will satisfy Zoins without the laborious task of writing to a busy firm such as Sacks in the hopes of a reply.
It sounds as if you might get distressed rather easily.😉
Yes, some posters probably know the answer to the question posed. Others might mistakenly think they know and post incorrect information. Still others will likely speculate.
No need to write to Stack’s. While I don’t claim to know, my guess is that Zoins has a phone that he can use to call them. Maybe I’ll start a thread and ask whether he in fact, does. Someone will know the answer and if I’m lucky, they’ll see the thread and reply correctly.

You can create a poll asking people if they own a phone or not! The answers could be useful for PCGS, especially if you ask about phones that can install apps like the PCGS app
wow, just wow.
Seriously?
everyone knows:
The stickers are a secret code for them to know how much they paid for the coin v the price sold for.
The brighter the sticker, the more that they made.
A purple sticker, for example, says that they made enough on that coin to pay their rent for the month.
[Seeing how this thread went off topic, I figured that I'd help.]

My speculative answer is it's coded for which session the lot is in.
I have no idea. I will not hazard a guess, since speculative opinion simply clutters the path to knowledge. Cheers, RickO
Use your super secret decoder ring to figure it out.
I’m pretty sure the stickers relate to what stage of the auction prep the coin has completed, e.g. lot description, photography, etc.

Don’t know about Stacks but ABA Standards Color Coding: Blue= Nickels, Green= Dimes, Orange= Quarters, Red= Pennies, Grey = Dollars. This makes it east to match your tubes with your coin wrappers, and will match to banking standards.
