is double die or RPM proof 2008 nickel possible?

Hi everyone,

I have looked thru the proof nickels I have and one of it seems "doubled". 2008-S jefferson nickel
so my questions is a DDO or RPM even possible?
I will post pictures if needed.

Pictures are always needed.

Per many prior threads, mint marks have not been added manually to dies since the 1980s, so, no, RPMs are not possible on a 2008.

Is a doubled die possible? In theory, yes. But it is overwhelmingly likely that it is Machine Doubling.

I agree with @JBK.... It is possible, but highly unlikely. Probably machine doubling... If you post a picture we can give you a direct answer. Cheers, RickO
