    Agree with this suggestion. If there is a missing clad layer, it should be underweight and the strike would be weaker. Looking at it, I think it's just a regular dime with discoloration.

    Coins I have found metal detecting look a lot like that one.

    Environmental damage.

    Missing clad layer would look like a cent color-wise.

    Environmental damage.... may have been laying in dirt or some other substance. Soak in acetone or spend it as is. Cheers, RickO
