OT: There has not only been a recent coin shortage

With all that has been going on in this 2020 World one may have understandably missed the national Minute Tapioca shortage. Of course there is a subset of the population that could care less about the availability of this frog egg appearing pudding delicacy in the first place, but for the addicted it has been just one more challenge to face in these trying times.
Well the good news for the tapioca deprived is that even though it has been unavailable for the last four months, and likely remains unstocked on most grocery store shelves, Walmart.com has apparently cornered at least a limited supply as confirmed by last week's emailed alert.
If the internet postings are to be believed, the national tapioca shortage began with a drought affecting the cassava plant from whose roots the taro like substance is extracted. Apparently the primarily sourced from South America tapioca has also been impacted by plant disease as well, but the major culprit appears to have been the Covid-19 impacted supply chain.
While I did find some miniature tapioca pearls at a natural foods store to tide me over during the famine, it took a six hour process between soaking the pearls, heating them on low heat, and a full quarter hour of boiling to achieve a satisfactory tapioca pudding equivalent to Kraft's iconic Minute Tapioca.

Looks yummy.
Nothing better!
Thank you! I will sleep better tonight.
The proof is in the pudding
I love tapioca!
Well now.... I must admit, I had no idea of this critical situation. Probably because I have not had tapioca in at 65 years... and likely will not have it for the next 65 years.... I am happy you found some though... I would have the same anxiety if there were a shortage of oatmeal raisin cookies.
Cheers, RickO
Interesting, I'll have to look now. We use it in our fruit pies (like nectarine) and it turns out great.
No tapioca shortages to report from the commonwealth, however mason jars, lids, bands for canning etc. that's a completely different story.
good for dipping coins.

Now what is tapioca?
No shortage here - I have all I need.
I think you meant that there is a subset of the population who craves it like you do!

I’m glad you are living a U2 song!
