1795 Cohen 2a Liberty Cap Half Cent Rarity 3 to 4 ( 200 estimated survivors)

The latest addition to my 1795 Liberty Cap Half Cent Varieties and sub-Varieties, on a poor man's budget, collection..
An Obverse 2 and a Reverse A on a thick planchet (104.6 grains) , with a lettered edge, gives us a Cohen 2a.
The "comma" die break between the 1 and the 7 is partially visible as is the break on the top left of the R in LIBERTY
A planchet flaw under Lady Liberty's chin and a weak reverse in the Half Cent area, made it affordable, but it still has good eye appeal in my humble opinion!

WOW! 😍
Nice .... Any U.S. coin from the late 1700's is a treasure in my opinion. Cheers, RickO
that is an awfully nice coin for your collection.
perhaps set the bar a littler lower for another example.
It was at the upper end of what I like to pay, but it sold for about 1/4 of what I had seen others, in this condition, without the planchet flaw and scratches, sell for, so, I had to go for it.
Sweeeeet!

nice i like
The planchet flaw doesn't bother me at all. As struck and fairly common with early copper. Even the scratches and rim bump are of little consequence to me. Maybe it's "cap blindness", I just stare at the cap and don't notice anything else.
Successful BST deals with mustangt and jesbroken. Now EVERYTHING is for sale.
To me the flaws are part of the attraction of these early beauties, part of their individual history.
